Chris is a lead and committer for the Web Services Tools components
of WTP.

<p>
Chris is a senior advisory technical manager for Rational
Java Web Services Tools at the IBM Toronto Lab, and a
committer on the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project. He is
responsible for the architecture, design and delivery of the
tools for Web services in IBM's WebSphere and Rational Tools
products, with emphasis on the Java standards for Web
services. He has lead the development of Web services tools
since 2000, and is skilled in the theory and application of
standards and specifications including XML, XSD, WSDL, SOAP,
UDDI, WS-I, JSR-101, JSR-109, WS-Inspection and WS-Security.
</p>
<p>
Chris has filed a number of patents for inventions in the
course of developing tools for distributed systems including
Web services. He has presented in conferences such as SHARE,
in online Webcasts, and in a number of customer engagements
concerning the standards, runtimes, tools and best practices
most relevant to Web services. Prior to working on Web
services, he was the technical lead on tools for IBM's
implementation of CORBA. During his employment with IBM, he
has focused on the theory of, testing of, and invention of
development of tools for a variety of distributed systems
and protocols.

Chris joined IBM as a full time employee in 1989, shortly
after graduating from the University of Victoria with a BSc
in Computer Science with co-op distinction.

Chuck is the development manager of the Rational J2EE Tools team

artifacts (EJB/WAR/EAR...). This team will also contribute many
of the same core technologies to WTP including Project
Navigator, Validation Framework, and core J2EE model/resources.
Chuck has spent the last 10 years at IBM on several projects
focusing on object persistence and mapping (IBM Smalltalk/VA
Java/Eclipse).

of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2001, after which he joined

of the eteration network. He wrote Lomboz, a tool for J2EE

Object People as a managing director with their professional
services organizations. He teaches object technology, web
development, and distributed computing. His background is in
applied engineering and computational physics. He has

support, and EJB test client which are included in the
WebSphere Studio family of products. He's also the developer
of
<a href="http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/codeRally">CodeRally</a> and
<a href="http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/codeRuler">CodeRuler</a>,
two Java programming games based on Eclipse.

services, service-oriented architecture, XML technologies,
J2EE development and model driven development.

articles related to Web services technologies. He joined IBM
in 2001 after graduating from the University of British

components and is the WTP Documentation Lead. He is responsible
for the Help system, the XML group of validators, including those
for DTD, WSDL, XML and XSD, the WTP internet cache and the URI
resolution framework.

Lawrence Mandel is a software developer at the IBM Toronto Laboratory.
Since joining IBM he has worked on Java Web application development
tools including WebSphere Studio Application Developer, Rational
Application Developer and Eclipse Web Tools (WTP). Throughout this
time his development efforts have focused on XML and Web services tooling.
Lawrence has served as the ecosystem and documentation leads since the
inception of the WTP project. He is currently a senior developer working
on a new enterprise portfolio management product at IBM Rational. He is
also a leading the <a href="http://incubator.apache.org/woden" target="_top">Apache Woden project</a>,
which is creating a reference implementation of WSDL 2.0 and is authoring a WTP
book entitled <a href="http://www.eclipsewtp.org" target="_top">Java Web Application Development
with Eclipse</a> with Naci Dai and Arthur Ryman. Lawrence joined the IBM Toronto
Lab after graduating from the University of Toronto with an Hon. B.Sc. in
Computer Science and Human Biology.
