| There are two ways you can start your application to be tested. |

| You can configure the application so that it is started from the user interface. |
| In an AUT configuration, you can specify how the AUT is started. |
| You can have different configurations |
| for different platforms. |

| You can start your AUT independently |
| using the command <b>autrun</b>. This lets us |
| know that that AUT is testable. |

| In both cases, the AUT can run on any machine in the network, |
| as long as the <b>AUT Agent</b> (the server component) |
| is also installed and running there. |

| <p class="headline2">Options for starting AUTs</p>

| You can start your AUT via an executable file if it is |
| written in Java 1.5 or above, and you are using an Oracle VM. |

| You can also start your AUT via a jar file that can |
| be started with a double click. |

| If your AUT is not a jar or executable file, you can start it |
| by entering the main class name and class paths necessary to start the AUT. |
