Bug 451961 - Update maven-dependency-plugin in eclipse.platform.common Updating to version 2.9 will give the number of fixes/improvements from http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=11214&version=19229 . The most noticable one is http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MDEP-439 which fixes the plugin to work properly under Java 8.
