<p>The Eclipse Foundation, and its growing base of technologies that companies depend on, has been at the forefront of
driving innovation and community engagement. With the addition of MicroProfile and more recently Jakarta EE projects
under Eclipse’s domain, I am more optimistic than ever that there is a future for Java in the Cloud Native world. I
am excited to see and be a part of the future of Java as it
embraces <a href="https://www.reactivemanifesto.org/" target="_blank">Reactive</a> principles
while enabling developers to leverage the benefits cloud nativity.</p>
<p>It will take passionate individuals, an inclusive community and committed
companies to ensure that Java does move forward along these lines, but I could not
think of a better community and foundation to lead that effort.</p>

Lightbend - We build and maintain the Akka message-driven runtime, Play web framework,
Lagom Microservices framework, and Scala programming language, and we contribute to Apache Spark. Our
mission is to help developers build high-performance applications that are message-driven, elastic,
resilient and responsive. We have been involved in the Eclipse community for many years - initially around
an Eclipse plugin for Scala and more recently in the Jakarta EE and MicroProfile projects.
