I am in tech, but not of tech. I don’t check the standard boxes for this board. But I’ve done business development in many different areas for many different people and organizations. That broad, business-focused perspective is the value I would bring to this group.

My first objective for Eclipse Foundation is Expansion: to survive, to thrive, we need to draw people to the Foundation. What will bring more people to us? How do we grow? How do we connect? I can assist with out-reach and increasing visibility. I know how to tap markets. I’m an excellent communicator: written, verbal and emoji.

Finances is #2: paying the bills isn’t sexy or exciting, but it is deeply important. How do we pay for what we do? How do we fund more? How do we make more so that we can give more? More support, more opportunities, more collaboration. I am skilled at preparing and analyzing budgets, cash flow, pro formas, and my checkbook is balanced.

Diversity, my third aim: this board ought to reflect the current world and draw diversity to the Foundation. This is open source. Eclipse should be at the forefront of gathering all people together and building a stronger ecosystem. I represent a piece of that diversity, at the least because I’m not an engineer ;).

What draws me to run for this seat is opportunity: to support, to grow, to diversify. This is an amazing organization and I’d like to be a part of building it.

I’ve taken an eclectic entrepreneurial path in life. I’ve started a commercial interior design business, built a restaurant from scratch, owned a custom boat canvas business, and published four romance novels. I currently juggle operations and project management for OpenDevise in Denver. I also spent eight years cruising on a sailboat with my husband from Seattle to Maine and twice around the Caribbean. Navigating organizations through storms and chaos into smooth sailing is right in my wheelhouse.
