 <p>My relationship with Eclipse began during my computer science studies. I learned coding with the Eclipse IDE and I participated in the Fujaba open-source research project - which was based on Eclipse. After co-founding Yatta, we joined the Eclipse Foundation as a Contributing Member and are still very committed to the community. We contribute to various Eclipse open-source projects, including:</p>

 <p>My vision is for Eclipse to become the most thriving collaboration platform for developers. This includes corporate and non-profit businesses, vendors and users, organizations and individuals alike. By leveraging shared resources, encouraging community commitment and enabling mutually beneficial collaboration, Eclipse will continue to help us develop.</p>
 <p>As a contributing member representative on the Board of Directors, I will work hard to:</p>
 <p><b>Encourage community commitment.</b> Eclipse’s biggest asset is its community. To strengthen the community, we need to encourage active commitment. Engaging members and contributors — and valuing their investment — ensures long-term success.</p>
 <p><b>Improve the Eclipse Platform.</b>
 For two decades Eclipse has supported its members and users in building more and better software. Open-source tools and technologies are at the very core of Eclipse. The future still needs a truly vendor-neutral open-source platform for developers. And this requires awareness, funding and contributions.</p>
 <p><b>Promote projects.</b> Nothing contributes more to the Eclipse Platform and the community than successful projects. Enabling existing projects and exploring new possibilities will bring new individuals, ideas and innovations into the Eclipse ecosystem.</p>
 <p><b>Strengthen our open-source ecosystem.</b> Now more than ever, Eclipse has become an ecosystem for collaboration among developers based on open source. To sustain and evolve Eclipse, I want to help members and users alike to connect with each other and create value.</p>

 <p>Manuel is COO and co-founder of Yatta. He also is a software engineer, tool developer and open-source enthusiast.</p>
 <p>Having studied computer science at the University of Kassel, Manuel graduated with honors. At Yatta, Manuel started out as a software engineer and tool developer. He soon transitioned into the roles of project lead and product manager. With experience gained from overseeing several software projects for medium-sized to large-scale enterprises, Manuel continued his development and became CTO - and now COO - of Yatta.</p>
 <p>Over the years, Manuel has visited dozens of Eclipse DemoCamps and EclipseCons, speaking with many members of the community. Today, Manuel coordinates Yatta’s contributions to the Eclipse IDE in the Steering Committee of the Eclipse IDE Working Group.</p>
 <p>Away from all the tech, Manuel is a road cyclist and sports enthusiast. He loves cycling for hours with his crew in his North Hessian home region, across the Alps or on the endless streets of Mallorca.</p>
