| <p CLASS="Head">Markers are objects that may be associated with Workbench resources. |
| There are many uses of markers in the Workbench. The three main uses of |
| markers in the Workbench are:</p> |

| <li>Problems</li> |
| <li>Bookmarks</li> |

| <p CLASS="Head">Markers are shown in a marker view (Tasks, Problems or Bookmark |
| view) or on the marker bar in the editor area.</p> |
| <p CLASS="Head">The following sections give more detail on each of these marker |
| types. </p> |

| Tasks</h2> |
| <P CLASS="Para"> A task marker represents a work item. There are two kinds of |
| tasks: </P> |

| <LI CLASS="Item"> Automatically-generated information associated with the |
| resource</LI> |
| <LI CLASS="Item"> User specified tasks that may or may not be associated with |
| a resource</LI> |

| <p>Both of these task types appear in the Tasks view.</p> |

| Problems</h2> |
| <P> Problem markers represent invalid states and are |
| categorized as follows..</P> |

| to indicate the source location of syntax or compilation errors.</DIV> |

| the source location of, for example, compilation warnings.</DIV> |

| in a resource or on the resource itself. They are shown in the Bookmarks view.</P> |
